In the sambo World Championship which there will pass in the middle of November in Vilnius (Lithuania), representatives of Turkey will take part for the first time.
Firat Akar will fight in competitions on sports sambo in a weight category up to 74 kg. And Mehmet Yabanci will participate in tournament on combat sambo in a weight category up to 82 kg. It is necessary to note, that 35 years old Mehmet Yabanci is the second Vice-president of Sambo clubs Association of Turkey.
At the moment in the country nearby 70 person are engaged sambo-wrestling, and participation of a two from them in tournament of a world level — a significant step forward on a way of progress of a sambo-wrestling in Turkey. According to Kamran Aliyev, the first Vice-president and the Secretary general of Sambo clubs Association of Turkey, for them it is difficult to name preparation of sportsmen for the first World Championship really professional. Nevertheless, for both tournament in capital of Lithuania is not only a good possibility to find experience of performances at a serious level, but also will allow to show fighters qualities and character in duels on a mat.
In plans of Association for the near future — carrying out of own national championship. Then, first of all, there will be a possibility to select fighters for participation in the international competitions by a sports principle. And secondly, the national Association can make an application on inclusion in the European Sambo federation. “We already discussed this question with Sergey Eliseev, and President of the ESF has suggested to renew negotiations after the Turkish sambo championship will be held”, — Kamran Aliyev has told.
