Sergey Eliseev has noted progress of world youth sambo

On October 16th World Sambo Championships among youth and juniors has come to the end in Riga. Specially for a website eurosambo.com results of competitions were commented by the president of the European and All-Russia sambo federations Sergey Eliseev.

“World championship has passed at a good organizational and sports level, — has told Sergey Eliseev. — For the first time on similar tournaments executive management FIAS worked and also for the first time the new system of accreditation very convenient for sportsmen, couches and other members of delegations has been applied. Owing to this innovation procedure of official registration of papers for participation in tournament has become simpler”.

“Organizers of tournament have tried to do the very best we can for convenience of spectators and sportsmen, — president ESF has continued. — And it was possible to them. But the only wish — we should be to see duels of the strongest young sambo-wrestlers of the planet in more capacious sporthall. However as a whole done by owners of tournament work must be ranked as very good”.

Summarizing sports results of tournament, Sergey Eliseev has noted success of the Ukrainian team which has managed to win first place on results of competitions in one of age categories for girls: “Undoubtedly, it is unexpected success Ukrainian sambo-wrestlers. However, girls in such early age shows much more emotions during the fight on the mat, therefore results often happen are unpredictable. That fact, that girls from Ukraine in the general classification have outscored contempoparies from the Russian team on a one point, it is possible to recognize positive — from the point of view of the further progress of sambo-wrestling in many countries of the Europe and the world”.

“World championship in Riga has pleased with return in elite of youth sambo wrestlers from Mongolia, as well as has opened to experts and spectators of young talented sportsmen from Ukraine, Venezuela, France, Moldova and other countries. All this testifies to stable progress of juniors and youth sambo-wrestling all over the world”, — summarized Sergey Eliseev.
