European Sambo Championship has started today at the Moscow Universal Sports Hall “Druzhba”.
Biggest number of athletes — 450, representating 33 countries, takes part in the Continental Championship. Sambo wrestlers from Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Ireland, Izrael, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Estonia will fight for the medals at the Russian capital.
Today, on the first day of European Championship, competition will held in the next weight categories: up to 52, 68, 90 kg (men, sports sambo), up to 48, 60, 72 kg (women), up to 57, 74, 100 kg (combat sambo).
