Ukrainian Junior Sambo championship in Sevastopol

On February, 18-20 Ukrainian Junior Sambo championship held in the sport complex “Musson” of the city of Sevastopol. Over 240 sambists from 17 regions of Ukraine took part in the competitions fighting for victory in 27 weight categories — on sport (boys and girls) and combat sambo.

At the opening ceremony of the tournament Volodymir Protopopov, the deserved coach of Ukraine, one of the founders of sambo in Sevastopol, was awarded an honorary diploma for outstanding achievements in development and popularisation of sambo. Vadym Rogach, Vice-president of Ukrainian Sambo Federation handed the diploma to Protopopov.

As a result of the competitions during two days on three mats Kiev sambists won the first place on the team classification. Sportsmen from Autonomous Republic of Crimea got the second place, and sambo players from Khar’kov region rated on the third place.
