More than 400 participants from 20 regions collected The Championship of Ukraine among cadets (under 16 years old) which took place in Kherson on 24th and 25th of April 2021. Young sambo athletes competed for 20 set of awards and for the right to represent the country at the European Championship in the Netherlands.
Vadym Rogach, President of Ukrainian sambo federation:
“We have championships at this age held in ten weight categories — among boys and girls. International championships are held in nine weight categories and exactly in this categories coaching staff will select the athletes who will be in national team. Honestly speaking, it was not easy to get to the national team, more than 400 athletes came to the mats of the Kherson Higher School of Physical Culture. Organizers of this competition headed by Ivan Litvinenko did a great work. Talking about sport results, first of all we should note the team of Kharkov region which won the team competition. This region is our flagman in training of sambo athletes”.
