Today, on August 11, the Executive Committee of the European Sambo Federation was held under the leadership of Sergey Eliseev, the President of European and All-Russian Sambo Federation. The meeting of the Executive Committee was held in the format of a zoom conference.
Among the participants there were the Heads of Greek, Czech, Cyprus, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain, Romania, Netherlands and Georgia Sambo Federations.The key questions discussed by the Executive Committee were related to the recognition of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS) by the International Olympic Committee.
The next step after the recognition is inclusion of sambo in the Summer Olympics program. In this connection the European Sambo Federation has organized a working group on recognition of the national sambo federations by national Olympic committees of their countries. The group was headed by Roberto Ferraris, Secretary General of the Executive Committee.
Also at the meeting of the Executive Committee the question of the European Sambo Federation commissions composition was approved.
