Sambo judges from Croatia were trained at a seminar

July 14 2022

On July 8-10 a seminar for international and continental level sambo judges was held in Zagreb. Eighteen Croatian specialists took part in the event under the guidance of international FIAS judge Ivan Netov.

The venue of the seminar, organized with the support of the Croatian National Olympic Committee, was the office of Zagreb Sports Association. All training participants already had experience both in national sambo tournaments and in other types of martial arts, so the seminar program was designed for in-depth training.

Theory alternated with practice, and practice, in turn, meant both parsing moments from competitions on video, and simulation of difficult cases directly in the seminar hall.

“I would like to note the great interest of all participants in mastering the material, as well as the high motivation of each specialist to prove themselves during the training. The level of training of Croatian judges left me with the most positive impressions, and I am sure that many of them, if they wish, can prove themselves at major sambo competitions,” said Ivan Netov.

According to the results of the seminar, three judges who received the highest marks during the knowledge test will be awarded the continental level. Sana Višnic, Josip Ivanišić and Kristjan Uskoković will have an opportunity to work not only at national but also at continental tournaments. The rest of the participants got an extra boost of motivation to prepare hard for their work as judges.
