The first ever Icelandic National Championship was held on March 11 in Hafnarfjordur. In competitions participated 7 weight categories. 2 categories for cadets 49 kg, 53 kg and for adults 64 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg. Winners and medalists received medals and diplomas.
The first Sambo Championship in Iceland was held. Organizers, athletes and spectators (a little more than 100-150 people visually, the entrance was free) — all received a great experience and a lot of positive emotions, and most importantly — for the organizers and athletes — there is something to work on and where to move in their development.
