14 European countries will take part in the World Cup

The Serbian city of Novi Sad will host the Sambo World Cup on September 23-24. Competitions will be held in 21 weight categories in sport and combat sambo.


The competitions will be held in the following weight categories:


Men: 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg;


Women: 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg;


Combat Sambo (Men): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg.


This is the second World Cup on the international calendar in 2023. The first one was held in August in Kyrgyzstan.


Teams from Armenia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Spain, Croatia, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Serbia, Spain and Switzerland are expected to take part in the competition, and a refugee team will also be represented. Athletes from Russia and France will compete in a neutral status (under the flag and with the anthem of the International Sambo Federation).


Competition regulations:

September 23

10:00 — start of preliminary matches for men (58 kg, 71 kg, 88 kg, +98 kg), women (50 kg, 59 kg, 72 kg, +80 kg) and combat sambo (64 kg, 79 kg, 98 kg).

17:30 — opening ceremony, finals and awarding.

September 24

10:00 — start of preliminary matches for men (64 kg, 79 kg, 98 kg), women (54 kg, 65 kg, 80 kg) and combat sambo (58 kg, 71 kg, 88 kg, +98 kg).
