On August 20, the international youth sambo competition was held in Moscow. Five countries took part in the tournament. We talked to Vovik Hodzhayan, Executive Director of the Sambo Federation of Armenia.
— Can you tell us how your athletes performed?
— We had 4 athletes at this competition. Unfortunately, three of them lost and one got into the final with the representative of Uzbekistan national team. The advantage was on our side and he became the champion.
— How did you prepare for the competition?
— We did not study much in the summer. The guys were training on the ground and preparing.
— Will we see any of them at the World Youth Championship in October?
— All representatives of the national team, who performed at the tournament, will perform at the World Championship in October. We will prepare more to make them perform better. This tournament will be a lesson for us to understand what we lack and what we need to add.
