The All-Russian Sambo Federation held a reporting and election conference on March 1, summing up the results of its work for 2025 and the past four years, and determining the federation’s management team for the next period.
Following a vote by conference delegates, Sergey Eliseev was re-elected as President of the All-Russian Sambo Federation for a new four-year term.
A new Executive Committee was also formed.
The report presented the results of sambo development in the regions, the expansion of competition geography, the implementation of educational and infrastructure projects, and the strengthening of Russian sambo’s international standing.
Special mention was made of the return of national symbols to international competitions, which enhances the status of Russian athletes on the global stage.
The conference approved the federation’s strategic development plan for the next four years. The central event of this period will be the 90th anniversary of sambo in 2028.

The anniversary is viewed as a systemic project, including:
— holding national and international events;
— implementing educational and awareness-raising programs;
— developing regional infrastructure;
— strengthening Sambo’s media presence;
— expanding international cooperation.
The plan envisions comprehensive efforts to popularize the sport, strengthen the positions of regional federations, and enhance the competitiveness of Russian athletes on the international stage.
“I thank the conference delegates for their trust. Over the past years, we have managed to ensure the stable development of Sambo, maintain the training system, and strengthen its international position. A new stage of work lies ahead. The central milestone will be the 90th anniversary of Sambo in 2028. We view this date not as a formal anniversary, but as an opportunity to take the development of our sport to a qualitatively new level,” noted Sergey Eliseev.
