On March 1, 2026, an interregional Sambo tournament was held in Edinet.

The competition was organized for the younger age group—athletes born in 2014–2015. For many participants, this tournament was one of the first serious challenges in their athletic careers, which added a special emotionality and genuine competitive passion to the matches.

Despite their young age, the athletes demonstrated discipline and a will to win, and the interregional format of the competition allowed the young sambiststo compete against opponents from across Moldova.

“Tournaments like these are the foundation on which professional sports are built. Seeing the number of participants and their desire to win, we understand that Sambo in Moldova continues to actively develop, attracting more and more children to gyms,” noted the event organizers.

The tournament in Edinet helped promote a healthy lifestyle among young people. All winners and runners-up were awarded honorary medals and certificates, which served as a significant incentive for their continued training and continued athletic achievements.
