The 2026 European Sambo Championships Concluded in Georgia

The 2026 European Sambo Championships for adults concluded in Tbilisi, bringing together the continent’s top athletes in men’s sports sambo, women’s sports sambo, and combat sambo.

The tournament featured 236 athletes from 27 European countries. At the conclusion of the competition, representatives from 23 national teams won championship medals, confirming the high level of competition and the rising standard of sambo on the European stage.

The Russian national team took first place in the overall team standings, winning 20 medals — 13 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze.

The Ukrainian team took second place in the championship standings with 12 medals — 2 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze.

The Armenian national team finished third in the medal count, with its athletes winning 9 medals — 2 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze.

The European Championship in Tbilisi demonstrated a high level of organization, a broad geographic representation of participants, and continued interest in sambo across Europe. The tournament served as an important platform for international sports competition and marked another step forward in the development of European sambo.
