
Schedule of major international competitions for the end of summer and beginning of autumn 2026. Sambo enthusiasts can look forward to a packed program, from youth tournaments to prestigious adult World Cups and Beach Sambo Championships. The competitions span Russia, Brazil, Latvia, Tajikistan, and Germany.
The season will open with the traditional Memorial to Honored Coach of the USSR M.G. Burdikov, which will be held in Kstovo from August 2 to 5. This tournament annually brings together the strongest sambists and is an important stage in preparation for the autumn competitions.
From August 19 to 22, Moscow will host the International Youth and Junior Competition. Young talents from around the world will compete for medals, demonstrating the future of this sport.
The beginning of September will be marked by an exotic start: from September 9 to 14, the World Beach Sambo Championships will be held in Caraguatatuba, Brazil. Sand, sun, and dynamic combat promise to be one of the most spectacular events of the year.
The European competition also falls on the same dates: the European Union Cup will be held in Riga, Latvia, on September 12–13.
The central event of September will be the Sambo World Cup. The competition will be held from September 17–21 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The capital of Tajikistan is expected to attract the world’s sambo elite to determine the winners of the prestigious trophy.
The September marathon will conclude with the Hamburg Sambo Open 2026 in Germany. The tournament will take place from September 25–27 in Hamburg and will continue the tradition of popularizing sambo in Western Europe.
