The Slovenian sambo federation was established in 2004 and had reached the great results at the important international competitions.
During the XXVII World Summer Universiade in Kazan (Russia) in 2013 the Slovenian female athlete Polona Lampe won the bronze medal (-60 kg). Aida Koratsin took the third place in the world championship among youth and juniors held in Thessaloniki (Greece) in 2013.
The students from the Slovenian school in Maribor visited the Moscow sambo schools to perform their skills in sambo and exchange experience. The delegation consisted from 6 athletes and one leader. Sambo training programme and the reception of delegation were prepared by the representative of ALKID club Nikolay Stepanov.
