TBILISI, May 15, 2026. The annual Congress of the European Sambo Federation (ESF) will be held in the Georgian capital. The event for delegates from national sambo federations takes place ahead of the European Adult Sambo Championships, which will be held in Tbilisi from May 14 to 18.
The Congress agenda focused on summing up the past year’s work and strategic planning for the future. Holding the Congress in Tbilisi in the same year as the European Adult Sambo Championships undoubtedly underscores Georgia’s status as a center for sambo development worldwide. The Georgian National Sambo Federation has a rich tradition, and Georgian athletes traditionally rank among the leaders in continental championships.
The 2026 European Sambo Championships will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from May 14 to 18. The tournament will feature medals in men’s sport and combat sambo and women’s sport sambo. The official regulations for the continental championship were published on the European Sambo Federation website back in February of this year.
